Race begins on Gardner-Webb campus

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.— Registration is now open for the Ruby C. Hunt YMCA’s 14th annual Turkey Trot 5K and Kids’ 1/2 mile Fun Run, which begins at Gardner-Webb University on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 24, at 8:30 a.m.

The early registration fees are $20 for YMCA members and $25 for non-YMCA members.  The late registration fees, which begin Nov. 20, are $25 for YMCA members and $30 for non-YMCA members. Registration for the Kids’ Fun Run is always $10.

This year’s Turkey Trot features chip timing, Clydesdale and Athena categories (200+ lbs. males and 145+ lbs. females), and a Phantom Runner option for those who want to support the YMCA’s financial assistance program and receive a t-shirt without running the race itself.  Awards will also be given for best costume, overall winners, pet owners, parents with strollers, and much more.
