Dr. Paula Qualls, GWU professor of religion, will speak at the event, which begins at 9:25 a.m. in Stewart Hall of Tucker Student Center. The program is free and open to the public.

“Dr. Qualls is one of the most respected professors at Gardner-Webb and whether we schedule her for Dimensions or for our student-led worship, The Gathering, students are always enthusiastic about hearing her speak,” says Dr. Tracy Jessup, vice president for the Office of Christian Life and Service and senior minister to the University.

Qualls will bring a message on the power of Easter. “Darkness into light, despair into hope, death into life,” she shares. “The resurrection of Jesus breathes new life into the most desperate situations.”

In addition to teaching Hebrew and Old Testament, Qualls is also faculty advisor to GWU’s Release the Captives Club. Release coordinates an anti-Human Trafficking Action Week each year. The group educates the campus and local community on issues surrounding human trafficking, equipping and empowering people to live in intentional opposition to this international crisis.

Gardner-Webb’s Dimensions program seeks to enhance the spiritual, intellectual and cultural life at the University and to promote a sense of community. More information is available by calling the GWU Office of Christian Life & Service at 704-406-4277 or visiting
