BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—An independent higher education research firm has honored Gardner-Webb University’s Godbold School of Business. TheBestSchools.org ranked GWU’s online Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems as one of the top 20 programs in the nation. Gardner-Webb is one of two North Carolina schools listed and the only private school in North Carolina to receive the honor.

Mischia Taylor, dean of the Godbold School of Business and instructor of marketing, noted that this honor can be attributed to the faculty, who are from all over the world and offer their practical experience to students. “They bring knowledge to the classroom that is both relevant and applicable,” she asserted. “We are always thrilled to be recognized for our program. Bottom line, we are here to serve our students and make sure they are well equipped for their next journey after completing our programs.”

According to TheBestSchools.org, Gardner-Webb is among the best because of the program’s excellent curriculum, strength of faculty, reputation, accreditation, financial aid and quality of online instruction. Other factors include the types of online technology used to deliver content, and the extent and quality of the online community learning environment, including options for communication, interactivity, and collaboration between students and also between students and instructors.

Dr. Felice Policastro, graduate business programs director and professor of International Business and Finance, said the ranking reflects the Godbold School of Business motto: “For God and humanity through business.”

“Our MBA offers the tools that both present and future business professionals need to seize exciting new opportunities or take a career in an entirely new direction,” Policastro added. “Having faculty members and a program curriculum with the right combination of knowledge, skills and experience can help students gain access to a world of new opportunities.”
