BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The Gardner-Webb University Thanksgiving Service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 21, during the Dimensions program. Sarah Currie, vice president of Student Development and dean of students, will be speaking. This free event is open to the public and will be held at 9:25 a.m. in Stewart Hall of Tucker Student Center on the main campus.

“Sarah is one of the most beloved staff members on our campus,” said Dr. Tracy Jessup, vice president for Christian Life and Service and senior minister to the University. “Not only does Sarah always have something inspirational and meaningful to say, but having her speak for our University Thanksgiving Service demonstrates the wonderful collaboration that exists between the Office of Christian Life and Service and the Student Development Division at Gardner-Webb University.”

Currie became vice president of Student Development in 2017. She previously served as GWU Director of Retention and Student Success, Bulldog Club director, and Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UNC Charlotte, a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Gardner-Webb, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership.

Her remarks will focus on thankfulness and compassion. “We will be exploring how gratefulness and generosity of presence, resources, and time can lead to increased joy and human connection,” she shared.
