Director of the Center for Christian Ethics and Leadership to Share at Dimensions Nov. 12

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Dimensions program at Gardner-Webb University is pleased to announce Dr. Lisa Allen as a distinguished speaker. She is the director of the Center for Christian Ethics and Leadership at Gardner-Webb and serves as an assistant professor in the School of Divinity. Allen will be joined by colleagues from the GWU Department of Theatre for the program, to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 9:25 a.m. in the Tucker Student Center.

During this event, the audience will receive an opportunity to see actors and a student director present the play, “Time to Go,” which depicts the struggles of a family as they face issues related to long-term life support. After the short play, there will be a discussion facilitated by Allen, and technology will be employed to poll students on both their reactions to and choices on this topic.

“The Center for Christian Ethics and Leadership works to provide opportunities for students to engage in critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making,” said Allen.  “We hope that this format will engage students’ minds and hearts as they consider what choices they would make in a difficult situation.”

Gardner-Webb University’s Dimensions programs are free and open to the public. The goal of Dimensions is to enhance the spiritual, intellectual and cultural life at the University and also to promote a sense of community.
