BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.— Gardner-Webb University will host a Color Dash 5k (3.1 miles) on Saturday morning, Oct. 15 in the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center (LYCC) parking lot on GWU’s main campus. The race starts at 9 a.m. and packet pick-up is at 7 a.m.

The Color Dash 5k is an interactive race that incorporates bursts of colored powder that will shower participants. According to the Color Dash website, this event encourages communities to come together and celebrate life through 3.1 miles of laughter, color, and fun.

“Gardner-Webb Campus Recreation wants to provide a great community event for GWU students, faculty, staff, and surrounding community members,” said Brain Arnold, Assistant Director of Student Activities. “The Color Dash is a great way for the community to come together.”

Participants will receive a Dasher Kit, which includes a t-shirt, race bib with pins, and a temporary tattoo. Arrive early and stay after to participate in small competitions in order to win prizes. Each participant will also receive a free ticket to the Gardner-Webb homecoming football game against Coastal Carolina later that day.

Registration is available here. Individual packets are $20 with advanced registration and $40 on race day. For those who wish to support their local community without racing, donations can be made at on this webpage. You may also sign up to volunteer here as well.
