Gardner-Webb University Theatre Announces Open Auditions for “Sylvia”

Auditions to be Held Oct. 9 in Millennium Theatre

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. –The Gardner-Webb University School of Performing and Visual Arts invites faculty, staff, students and members of the community to audition for the comedy “Sylvia.” Auditions will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Millennium Theatre, located in the Communication Studies Hall.

Directed by Dr. Jim Thomas, dean for the School of Performing Arts, “Sylvia” is a play that tells the unique story of a dog named Sylvia and her owners, a middle-aged couple struggling to keep their marriage on track.

Those who are interested in auditioning must come prepared with a memorized 60-second monologue. Although not required, headshots and resumes are welcome.

Performance dates are November 28 through December 2.
