Gardner-Webb University Summer Commencement Set for Aug. 6

Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctorate Degrees to be Awarded

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb University will award over 400 degrees during the 2012 summer commencement ceremonies on Monday, Aug. 6.  The undergraduate and graduate ceremonies are respectively scheduled for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Paul Porter Arena of the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center, located on Gardner-Webb campus.

A total of 412 degrees will be awarded during Monday’s graduation events with 163 students earning undergraduate degrees, 230 taking home master’s degrees, and 19 receiving doctorates, representing more than a 50 percent increase over last year’s summer commencement.  During the 2011 ceremony, a total of 273 degrees were awarded.

Various students will participate in the morning and afternoon ceremonies by offering the invocation, delivering commencement speeches, and reading scripture.  Selected graduates will be honored with the Senior Scholastic Achievement Award and the Darlene J. Gravett Citizen Scholar Award.
