Gardner-Webb University Summer Commencement Ceremonies Set for Aug. 5

Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctorate Degrees to be Awarded

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb University will award nearly 450 degrees during the 2013 summer commencement exercises on Monday, Aug. 5.  Ceremonies are planned for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Paul Porter Arena of the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center, located on the campus of Gardner-Webb University.  Approximately 441 students have earned degrees and a majority of those graduates will don their cap-and-gown to celebrate their hard work.

Of the two ceremonies planned, the first at 10 a.m. will honor students who have successfully completed graduate programs while the second ceremony at 3 p.m. will focus on the achievements of students in the traditional undergraduate and GOAL programs of study.  Various students will participate in the morning and afternoon ceremonies by offering the invocation, delivering commencement speeches, and reading scripture.  Selected graduates will be honored with the Senior Scholastic Achievement Award and the Darlene J. Gravett Citizen Scholar Award.
