Gardner-Webb Summer Commencement Ceremony Set for Aug. 4

University to Award Over 200 Degrees

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—Gardner-Webb University will award over 200 degrees during 2014 summer commencement exercises on Monday, Aug. 4.  The ceremony is planned for 10 a.m. in Paul Porter Arena in the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center, located on Gardner-Webb’s main campus.

The University will confer degrees on 205 total graduates across traditional undergraduate, graduate and degree completion programs of study.  Various students will also participate in the ceremony by offering the invocation, delivering commencement speeches, and reading scripture.  Select graduates will be honored with the Senior Scholastic Achievement Award.

Following the commencement ceremony, an alumni reception will be held in the Tucker Student Center.  The University encourages graduation events attendees to use the hashtag “#WebbGrad2014” for social media posts, including Facebook status updates, tweets, and Instagram photos.

In addition to the Aug. 4 commencement activities, graduates and their families are invited to a baccalaureate worship service Sunday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m. in Stewart Hall of the Tucker Student Center.

Gardner-Webb has awarded approximately 1,500 degrees this academic year, including December 2013, May 2014 and upcoming August 2014 graduates.
