BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.— The Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldog Softball team will host its second annual Breast Cancer Awareness games on Oct. 15 at 1:00 p.m. with a doubleheader against Limestone College.  Fans are encouraged to demonstrate support by wearing pink.  All fan donations will go directly toward the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Charlotte to support research, awareness and treatment for women in the Charlotte region.

Before the first game at 11 a.m., the Komen Foundation will present pink cancer awareness ribbons and candy favors to all fans in attendance. Educational materials about breast cancer awareness, prevention, and treatment will also be available. Entry to the games are free but donations to the cause are encouraged.

“These games are a chance for the Gardner-Webb campus and the community to become more aware of breast cancer and to do their part to find a cure,” said GWU Softball Head Coach Tom Cole.  “It will also be the perfect day to catch a little softball and root for the Runnin’ Bulldogs.”
