Kasay is Seventh All-Time Leader for Field Goals Made in National Football League

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Dimensions program at Gardner-Webb University announces its next guest for the 2014-2015 academic year. Former National Football League (NFL) field goal kicker John Kasay will share his story on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 9:25 a.m. in the Paul Porter Arena, located inside the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center (LYCC).  The event is free and open to the public.

John Kasay spent 21 seasons as an NFL kicker and currently ranks seventh all-time for field goals made. He played with the Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers, and New Orleans Saints. Currently, Kasay serves as the athletic director at Charlotte Christian School (CCS) in Charlotte, N.C.

“I have been a fan of John Kasay since the Carolina Panthers’ inaugural season in 1995,” shared Dr. Tracy Jessup, vice president for the Office of Christian Life and Service and senior minister to the University. “On and off the field, he has been a faithful witness of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  It is an honor to host such a fine Christian man and NFL legend on our campus.”

Kasay has been a part of the CCS faculty since July 2013. He serves as head of the athletic department and provides leadership to coaches and athletic teams. He has worked extensively with them as a member of the board of directors of Coaches Time Out, an organization that seeks to equip team leaders to be positive role-models and mentors for young people, instill positive core values, and ultimately affect and inspire their lives for Jesus Christ.

Gardner-Webb University’s Dimensions programs are free and open to the public.
