Gardner-Webb Community Band Seeks New Members for Fall

Band Prepares for Future Public Concert 

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University School of Performing and Visual Arts Symphonic Band is currently seeking additional instrumentalists for the fall 2012 semester that will culminate with a public concert on Tuesday, Nov. 27.  All wind and percussion players in the area, from high school juniors and seniors, college age, and adults, are invited to participate with GWU students and faculty.

Music to be performed at the concert includes “The Vanished Army March” by Steven Alford, “Paintings” by William Owens, “Ichabod Fanfare” by Brian Balmages, “O Magnum Mysterium” by Morton Lauridsen, and “Overture to a Winter Celebration” arranged by James Stephenson.

Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday nights from 6:00-7:40 p.m. in room 203 of Gardner Hall on the GWU campus in Boiling Springs.  There is no cost to participate.
