BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The Godbold School of Business at Gardner-Webb University will offer a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree in fall 2018. The new program will meet at the GWU Charlotte Campus, located at 8030 Arrowridge Boulevard. Courses will be held online and offer required residencies of four to five days per semester.

“We are all thrilled to begin the DBA program and can’t wait to meet our future doctoral students,” stated Mischia Taylor, dean and instructor of business. “The curriculum will include courses taught by faculty from all over the world.”

The 60 course hours required to earn the doctorate will include 24 hours of foundational classes, 24 in the selected major and 12 for the dissertation. Four concentrations will be offered: Accounting, finance, international business and marketing. Consistent with the academic and Christian mission of Gardner-Webb and the Godbold School of Business, the DBA is an applied, multidisciplinary terminal degree. The course of study is designed to provide students with effective solutions—rooted in Christian ethics and values—for today’s business challenges.

The program will be led by Dr. Sandra Mankins, assistant professor of accounting. “Having recently completed a DBA program myself, I am excited and passionate about this opportunity for our students and our University,” Mankins affirmed. “Our faculty is anxious to get started and looking forward to this new adventure.”

The Godbold School of Business will take applications for the program March 19 through May 18. Acceptance letters will be mailed by May 25. Orientation and courses begin Aug. 15.
