BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The fifth annual Summer Leadership Conference, titled “Leadership in Action: A Formula for Success,” will feature distinguished keynote speaker Dr. Mark Edwards, the 2013 North Carolina Superintendent of the Year, National Superintendent of the Year, and Superintendent of Mooresville (N.C.) Graded School District.  Scheduled for July 28-29 in the Tucker Student Center at Gardner-Webb University, the conference is sponsored by the School of Education’s Center for Innovative Leadership Development (CILD) and the Godbold School of Business Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship (CEE).

Several sessions will be offered throughout the two-day event, each designed to offer information in the areas of teacher efficacy, organizational leadership, and research presentations.  Dean of the GWU School of Education and an organizer for the conference, Dr. Doug Eury, said, “We are once again very excited about the partnership with Dr. Anthony Negbenebor (dean of the GWU Godbold School of Business) and the School of Business, and believe attendees will benefit from a wide range of subjects, expertise, and topics discussed.”

More information about the conference, including final registration with electronic registration capability, is available online at www.gardner-webb.edu/leadership-conference.  Registration is available online through July 11, but participants can also register on site prior to the start of the conference on July 28.

The Center for Innovative Leadership Development (CILD) and the School of Education serve both as a catalyst for cultural transformation within the institution aimed at enhanced organizational performance, as well as establishing the framework for centers of excellence within the organization.  They support the needs of the immediate community and region with programs aimed at spiritual, economic, and academic growth.  More information is available at 704-406-2365.

The Godbold School of Business’s Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship (CEE) provides students with a unique learning environment where a high standard of excellence embraces integrity as much as knowledge and skills.  They seek to educate men and women to compete effectively in tomorrow’s business world and become today’s leaders.  More information is available at 704-406-3229.
