Dimensions Program Focuses on Advent

GWU Volleyball Coach Leo Sayles to Speak Dec. 5

Leo Sayles with the volleyball teamBOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—Leo Sayles, head women’s volleyball coach at Gardner-Webb University, will be speaking at Dimensions on Tuesday, Dec. 5. This event will be held at 9:25 a.m. in Stewart Hall of Tucker Student Center on GWU’s main campus. The free program is open to the public.

“I am calling my message ‘Personal Reflections on Advent,’” shared Sayles. “This hopefully will be a meaningful way to help us all gain a deeper, more personal appreciation for the Christmas season.”

Dr. Tracy Jessup, vice president for Christian Life and Service and senior minister to the University is pleased that Sayles is speaking for the University Advent Service. “Not only is he an outstanding volleyball coach, but he is an excellent communicator when it comes to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” Jessup affirmed.

Sayles came to Gardner-Webb in 2001 and has over 20 years of experience as a volleyball coach at the high school, club and college level. He is an active member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and recently served as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Volleyball chair. He has served on the AVCA-NAIA Head Coaches Executive Committee and as the NCCAA Mid-East Region Chair, as well as having served on regional and state executive boards for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). His devotions have been featured on FCA’s IMPACT daily email devotions, and he has been featured in FCA’s “Sharing the Victory Magazine.”
