GWU Alumnus Clayton King to speak at Dimensions Sept. 3

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Dimensions program at Gardner-Webb University is pleased to announce Clayton King, the founder and president of Crossroads Worldwide Ministries, as a distinguished speaker.  The world-renowned evangelist and author will share the Gospel with students on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 9:25 a.m. in the Paul Porter Arena, located inside the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center (LYCC).

King, who came to know Christ at the age of 14, began his preaching in prisons and churches and has since gone on to spread the Gospel in 45 states and 31 countries including Kenya, Egypt, Hungary and the Himalayas. In 1995, he founded Crossroads, a non-profit organization based out of Boiling Springs, which promotes evangelism and discipleship around the globe through a variety of ministries including mission trips and mentoring networks. However, its primary ministry has been its summer camps, which nearly 50,000 students from around the country have attended over the past 18 summers.  In that time, Crossroads campers have raised over $1 million towards missions and over 8,000 campers have received salvation and fully dedicated their lives to Christ.

Dr. Tracy Jessup, vice president for Christian Life and Service and senior minister to the University, says he “has a deep respect for King’s gift to share the Gospel and his passion for Christ.” King is continually finding news ways to communicate the Gospel and is striving to enlighten new audiences.
