Town of Boiling Springs Presents Family-Oriented Activities & Entertainment

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Town of Boiling Springs is thrilled to announce that the Crossroads Festival will return to Main Street on May 4 from 10 a.m. to sunset.  A fireworks display at sunset will cap off the day’s family-friendly activities.

Boiling Springs Town Manager Tom Hart said that the town’s Centennial Celebration in 2011 was a huge success and was well-received by the community.  “Unfortunately, centennials only roll around every 100 years and we decided we just couldn’t wait that long before we offered another great festival for our community,” Hart shared.

Approximately 25 vendors offering a variety of food, beverages, arts, and crafts will line South Main Street in Boiling Springs for the duration of the festival.  Local dance performances will kick things off on the main stage from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., then the bands “After Dark” (12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.) and “Paris Thieves” (4 p.m. – 6:p.m.) will perform live.  In addition, inflatables and rides will be available for children from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“Street festivals offer a great opportunity for families to gather in a safe atmosphere and just unwind and that’s what we hope people will come do,” Hart said. “We’ve planned this event with the goal of appealing to everyone.”

The event will begin transitioning over to Boiling Springs Baptist Church around sundown, where a huge fireworks display is planned.  Organizers hope to cater to its longtime citizens as well as draw new visitors to the quaint Boiling Springs downtown area.

“This event offers us a great opportunity to welcome visitors,” Hart reflected.  “But even more importantly, the Crossroads Festival will give our residents a chance to come out and celebrate this wonderful community.  We’re going to prove that you don’t have to drive out of town to have a good time.”

The Crossroads Festival is being sponsored by the Town of Boiling Springs and Turner Trucking Company with publicity and planning assistance from Gardner-Webb University.  For more information, contact Boiling Springs Town Hall at 704-434-9419.  Vendors for the event will be accepted through April 18.
