Corps Set to Entertain Community Sunday Night

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—World-champion drum and bugle corps, Carolina Crown, will perform a free show Sunday, June 15, at Gardner-Webb University.

More than 150 musicians with the South Carolina-based corps have called Boiling Springs home for the past month to rehearse the 2014 cosmic-themed show, “Out of This World.”

Sunday’s show is set for 7-9 p.m. in Ernest W. Spangler Stadium at GWU.  The group will then pack up and begin a tour that will culminate in the Drum Corps International (DCI) World Championships Competition on Aug. 9 in Indianapolis.

Carolina Crown won the 2013 DCI World Championships in Indianapolis.  The organization has partnered with GWU since 2007 for campus space to practice for its national tours.
