Proceeds to Support Local Artists and GWU Art Club

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University Art Department is proud to announce the opening of its annual Christmas Art Sale, a fundraiser to support individual artists and the GWU Art Club. The sale offers a variety of original artwork by local artists, GWU art faculty and art club students. The sale is open from Thursday, Nov. 21 through Saturday, Nov. 23, in the upper concourse at the Tucker Student Center.

This year’s sale will feature handmade pottery, jewelry, nativities, fiber arts, paintings, soaps, cards and more. “It is a great opportunity to purchase unique gifts at a terrific price, while supporting artists from the Gardner-Webb Community,” said professor of Art Susan Bell.

The 30% commission on sales will help the art club continue to fund new projects and trips, like their recent visit to New York City over fall break. It also provides the students with an opportunity to gain practical experience in marketing their work and learning how to use their earnings to defray the cost of art materials and other expenses required by studios.

The sale is open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Friday and Saturday.  For more information, contact Justin Humphries at 704-406-4656.
