Clubs & Organizations

 Alpha Chi: The purpose is to promote and recognize scholarship and elements of character which make scholarship effective. Special Invitation Only


 Alpha Psi Omega: The purpose is to improve the learning environment and foster an appreciation for theatrical achievement. Special Invitation Only


Alpha Sigma Lambda: The purpose is to provide an on-campus association for recognition of academically outstanding students in continuing higher education.


 Art Club: The purpose is to provide support services for students that are interested in the arts. This organization is also service-oriented and enjoys reaching out to the community. Open to all students.


Athletic Training: The purpose is to supplement the professional and academic development of athletic training students. Open to Athletic Training Majors.


Beta Beta Beta: The purpose is to recognize and encourage scholarship in Biology. Special Invitation Only


Black Student Union: The purpose is to enrich and educate all students, faculty, and staff of multicultural history and events that affect all of us in hopes of creating a more diverse environment. Open to all students.


Bulldog Pep Band: The purpose is to serve the university community in a supportive capacity with responsibilities for fostering school spirit at athletic events. The Pep Band is open to all interested instrumentalists at the university


Campus Ministries United: The purpose is to provide opportunities for active participation in activities aimed at developing a well-rounded background for the individual Christian worker, and will provide support to one another through Christian fellowship. Open to all students.


Chorale: A large choral group which prepares programs of sacred and secular music for presentation on campus and in area churches.


Collegiate Music Educator's Conference: The purpose is to advance the musical knowledge and education of all levels at Gardner-Webb.


College Democrats: Gardner-Webb College Democrats is a student-led organization that promotes political involvement around democratic ideals of honest government, energy independence, affordable health care, civil rights and justice, real national security, and economic prosperity for all Americans.  The club is open to student, faculty, or staff.


College Republicans: The purpose is to promote the principles of the Republican Party among students at Gardner-Webb, to increase the membership in the club and in the Republican Party, to provide a forum for discussion,  and to develop strong leadership abilities and political skills among Republican students.


Concert Choir: A mixed touring chorus of select voices determined by auditions held in the Spring of the preceding school year and the beginning of the Fall semester. Open to all students of the university.


Dawg Pound: The purpose is to promote school spirit, support Gardner-Webb athletics, and serve the local community. Open to all undergraduate day students.   


Deaf Club: The purpose is to establish a focal point for the activities whereby the deaf and hearing communities can work in accord. Open to all students.   


Equestrian Club: The purpose is to provide a club for organized equestrian events and an arena for intercollegiate equestrian competition. Open to all students.   



Fellowship of Christian Atheletes: The purpose is to offer christian fellowship with a special emphasis on athletics. Open to all students.


Gospel Choir: The purpose is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through music. Open to all students to audition.

GWU Orchestra: A semi-professional orchestra open to all students of the university as well as residents of the community by audition. The orchestra is a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League. Approval of the director is required before registering.

Health and Wellness: The purpose is to provide opportunities to gain experience and establish contacts with professionals who will help members better prepare for a career in the health and wellness field. Open to Health and Wellness Majors.


Honors Student Association: The purpose is to encourage an atmosphere of challenged learning through advanced classes, special trips, and special academic opportunities. Special Invitation Only


Institute of Management Accountants: To further the purpose and objectives of the Institute of Management Accountants and its members who are students at Gardner-Webb.  Open to Accountant majors.


International Club: The purpose is to reach out to all International students to build community that supports, enhances, and addresses key issues. Open to all students.


Joyful Hands: The purpose is to minister and witness through community outreach by using American Sign Language and expression to musical accompaniment.

Kappa Chi: The purpose is to encourage higher scholarship and to recognize and reward scholastic achievement in business administration programs. Special Invitation Only 


Math Club (Sigma): The purpose is to stimulate interest in the field of mathematics within both the university and the community.


Pi Delta Phi: The purpose is to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and its literatures. Special Invitation Only


Psi Chi: The purpose is to stimulate and promote interest in the field of psychology.


REACH Leaders: The purpose is to facilitate volunteer opportunities, service learning, and leadership growth on campus and between students and the community. Open to all students.

Residence Hall Association: The purpose is to provide and administer activities or services necessary to promote the welfare and interest of all resident students.   


Rotaract Club: The purpose is to provide opportunities for young people to address the need and concerns of the community and our world and to motivate them for eventual membership in Rotary. Open to all students.


Running Club: The purpose is to train students to run marathons and/or just to have fun running. Open to all students.

Student Government Association: The purpose is to represent the rights and opinions of the undergraduate day student body in a manner consistent with the mission and SGA constitution. SGA helps to promote positive relationships between students, faculty, and administration. Open to all students to run for election.


Sigma Delta Pi: Our purpose is to honor those who seek and attain excellence in the study of language, literature and culture os Spanish speaking people.  


Sigma Theta Tau: The purpose is to confer distinction upon outstanding students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies.


Student NC Association of Educators: The purpose is to promote interest in young adults interested in education and to provide them with opportunities to develop their professional competence.


Student Alumni Council: The purpose of the Student Alumni Council is to link students with alumni to promote a network of relationships and unity of purpose as a Gardner-Webb community. Open to all students.


Student Entertainment Association: The purpose is to stimulate, promote, and develop the social, recreational, cultural, educational, and spiritual activities of the campus community.  Open to all students.


Student Nurses Association: The purpose is to aid in the development of professional nurses, to provide educational programs of interest to students and to encourage involvement in nursing organizations.


Students in Free Enterprise: The purpose is to train and motivate college students to teach others how the free enterprise system works and how to succeed in the global market.


Team Micah: is a multi-cultural ministry that co-ordinates mentoring programs for Elementary schools and campus events that will further enhance spiritual relationships.

Theta Alpha Kappa: The purpose is to recognize students who excel in the area of Religious Studies and Theology. Students must meet certain criteria to join.


Ultimate Frisbee: The purpose is to fellowship with others through the fun game of Ultimate Frisbee. Open to all students.


Web Spinners: The purpose is to promote interest in theatrical productions, specifically those at GWU, and to foster personal development in the various components of stage performance and theatre.
