HAPY Hall was first created as a male dormitory and was completed in 1946. Two wings were added to this building, McCurry and Suttle, after WWII in 1948 which was “to symbolize a new Gardner-Webb campus.” Suttle Hall is no longer used as a place for living for students but is office to different departments. Creative Services is located on this side of HAPY. McCurry wing still houses males. The main part of the building has three levels or floors for females to reside. HAPY is located behind the Webb building and is to the right of the DCC and Hamrick Hall. HAPY Hall is now designated for Honors Student Housing.
The first floor of the female part of the building includes seven suite style rooms for four females to live in per room. Each room is split into two separate areas for living by a bathroom in the middle. These bathrooms consist of a toilet, two sinks and a shower. One of the seven rooms is reserved for a RA. This floor also offers a laundry room, kitchen, and a lobby. The room dimensions for the separated areas are 13’4” X 12’7”. The window dimensions for these rooms are 3’3” X 4’5” and the mattress size for the beds is twin XL.

These rooms are quite large in that their dimensions are 16’9” X 27’, the window dimensions are 6’6” X 4’5”, and the mattress size for these rooms is twin XL. One of the four rooms on the third level is a bit smaller than the rest and can only reside two females instead of three.
