Upcoming Metrolina Career Fair Offers Students Chance to Explore Job Opportunities

Gardner-Webb students can learn about career opportunities and talk to several employers from across the United States at the Metrolina Career Fair on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 10:30 a.m. in Charlotte. This event will take place in the student center of Johnson and Wales University-Charlotte at 235 Cedar Street. Gardner-Webb will provide transportation to the event or validate parking for the first 10 students who drive separately.

“The event currently has about 70 employers registered with companies like Vanguard, Redventures, Delhaize America, Bank of America, Novant Health, Crown, Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, many city governments and police departments, as well as some graduate institutions,” shared Erin Cook, GWU Associate Director of Personal and Professional Development. “In addition, we offer LinkedIn headshots at the fair and will also have mini breakout sessions led by employers to talk about how to connect and follow up with employers afterwards.”

The Career Fair is sponsored by the Career Consortium of Metrolina Colleges, which is a group of career development professionals from 10 private colleges and universities in the Charlotte-Metrolina area, including Gardner-Webb. The Consortium’s mission is to increase students’ networking opportunities with employers and to offer employers an efficient means of recruiting.
