Students Offer Hope and Healing

Ignite Your Future

Some of the most life-changing moments in a college student’s education can occur during experiences outside the walls of a classroom. At Gardner-Webb University, our students explore the world through field research, internships, study abroad, and community and global service.

Already attending college thousands of miles from her hometown of Everson, Washington, Emily Hamilton again stepped out into the unknown by participating in a Gardner-Webb mission trip to help victims of human trafficking. As part of an ongoing University initiative to reach and change lives devastated by captivity, Hamilton and her Gardner-Webb peers connected with the Atlanta Dream Center in Georgia to offer healing and hope to men, women, and children.

“I have now seen first-hand just how real this issue is in America,” Hamilton explains. “And I have been changed by all that I saw and learned.” In addition to gaining valuable life experience and feeling personal spiritual growth, Hamilton’s journey has allowed her to connect with Gardner-Webb’s network of service-minded students. “I now have more relationships with others on campus who are eager to help make a difference and change the world for the better.”

Gardner-Webb is a Christian, private, liberal arts university where we join with our students to redefine the classroom, foster transformative opportunities, and cultivate a community that celebrates faith through service and learning. A student-centered experience and rigorous academics prepare our students for careers and lives as diverse as they are. Ignite your future at Gardner-Webb University.
