BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.— Gardner-Webb University will host musician Erskin Anavitarte during the Dimensions hour on Tuesday, March 20. Anavitarte is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tenn., where he lives with his wife and two children. The program will be at 9:25 a.m. in Tucker Student Center and is free and open to the public.

Anavitarte has travelled across the United States and internationally to encourage, uplift, and inspire listeners with his music. His latest single, “Black and White,” tackles issues such as religion and race. He aims to engage culture and strengthen ministries through the music he creates across genres such as pop, jazz, country, R&B, and hip-hop.

“Erskin has attended Dimensions on a couple of occasions when he was in the area doing a church concert,” says Dr. Tracy Jessup, vice president for the Office of Christian Life and Service and senior minister to the University. “He shares our desire to nurture students spiritually, intellectually and culturally in the context of the Christian faith.”

Not only focused on music, Anavitarte is an adoption activist as well. He is an advocate for the faith-based non-profit Holt International, which provides resources to children and families across 13 countries, including the United States. Anaviratre is a voice for orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children across the world.
