english professor teaching class outside

The Gardner-Webb University Department of English offers a supportive learning community with multiple opportunities to connect and share with your classmates and professors. Our department has a history of fun activities, and our low student/teacher ratio (4-to-1) means that students will get one-on-one attention.

A degree in English is a great foundation for a wide range of careers and fields of work, including publishing and editing, teaching, business and marketing, social media management, professional writing, non-profit work, ministry, counseling, law, human rights work, and social work.
