The winner of the 2010 Dover Library Service Award is Brad Vaughn of Buckeye Lake, Ohio.  This award is presented to Brad for four exceptional years as a student worker in the Dover Library.  At the library, Brad served in the Audio Visual Department under Margaret Christopher.  According to Ms. Christopher, Brad work was outstanding all four years he worked in the library.  He went well beyond his duties as a student worker in the AV Department. His Christian character was evident in not only his work ethic but also in how he related to others.  Brad also speaks highly of his time at the library, noting that he had the opportunity to learn “unique skills that he would not have had the opportunity to learn working elsewhere…” and that he “made friendships that he will cherish forever.

In addition to excelling in his work in the library, Brad also found time during his stay at GWU to participate in numerous extracurricular activities, including FOCUS, mission trips, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and multiple theater productions.  Brad also served as a Senator in the Student Government Association during his Junior and Senior years and as President of the Student Alumni Counsel in the Spring of 2010.  Brad has also been featured in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.  When he is not engaged in academic endeavors, Brad enjoys being outdoors, playing sports, and acting.

Brad graduated in May of 2010 with degrees in Psychology and Sociology.  He now plans to further his education in Clinical Psychology with the goal of one day serving as a professional therapist.
