The John R. Dover Memorial Library now provides several avenues for you to have a little more personal input into what we add to our Library collection. We are announcing the following three new opportunities:

"On the Occasion of" This honor/memorial program will be open to University employees and to students and alumni of Gardner-Webb. Do you want to honor your parents' anniversary? Celebrate your own birthday? Remember a loved one who has passed away? Honor someone who has been a mentor in your life? Why not do this with a monetary donation to the Library? You might ask us to purchase a specific title, or books on a topic. The Library will match any amount up to $100.

"Congratulations, Colleagues!" Every year we would like to honor the winner of the Excellence in Teaching award, the Female Staff Member of the Year, the Male Staff Member of the Year, and any retiring full-time University employee. Each of these people may select a specific title or books on a topic with a value up to $100; the Library will underwrite the cost.

"Congratulations, Students!" Every year we will contact the recipients of the academic awards and service awards; the recipients of other awards may be added in the future. Each of these people may select a specific title or books on a topic with a value up to $50; the Library will underwrite the cost.

For each of these programs the library material will be appropriately bookplated, and lists will be kept of the employees and students who have participated as well as what was purchased. The Library will be responsible for evaluating the
appropriateness of material requested, and will suggest alternative titles where necessary.

We are excited about the prospect of your participation, and pleased that we will have the opportunity to honor both students and employees by including works which they choose for the Library collection.
