InterLibrary
Loan requests May now be submitted online, using the links on
this
page.
InterLibrary Loan forms may be submitted either online or by using
paper forms located at the Reference Desk. An individual form is to
be filled out for each requested book or article. Patrons
will be notified by phone or email when their requests come
in.
InterLibrary Loan service is available to all currently enrolled students,
faculty, and staff. Patrons can request books and other materials not
owned by Dover Library, and can obtain photocopies of articles from
periodicals not available in the library's collection or available
in full text electronically.
Before requesting an item on InterLibrary Loan, it is important to
ascertain that it is not available through Dover Library. For books,
this can be done by doing a title search in MAX,
the library's online catalog. For articles, a patron can consult MAX and
the library's complete A-to-Z
title list to be certain that a particular periodical
is not owned by the library and that the given article is not available
full text in one of the online databases the library subscribes to.
Requests may take 10-14 days to fill. Patrons are requested to submit
requests early enough to give the ILL staff
enough time to order the materials they need. The patron is responsible
for any cost above the first $5. In some cases, the library may not
be able to request an article due to compliance with federal copyright
law.
Patrons are responsible for returning books borrowed through ILL by
the due date listed on the label affixed to each book. Due dates
on ILL books will vary. Overdue fines for ILL books are $1.00 per day
per item. If an ILL item becomes overdue,
the borrower is expected to pay the fine. If an ILL book is lost, the
patron is expected to pay all overdue fines plus the replacement
cost and associated fees charged to us by the lending library.
Renewal requests for ILL items must be made at least one week in advance of the due date to allow time for processing. |
