consumer health and human services information website from the United
States government. It can lead you to selected online publications, clearinghouses,
databases, websites, support and self-help groups, government agencies,
and non-profit organizations that produce reliable health information.
Health World Online Provides access
to online articles about fitness, nutrition, wellness, health news, products,
and diseases. There are also reference resources, and links to resources
for professionals.
Physical Education
American Alliance for Health, Physical
Education, Recreation, and Dance The AAHPERD website has links to
its six national Associations, as well as information on memberships,
meetings, research, publications, and related links.
Human Kinetics HK is a leading
producer of information in the physical activity field. On top of information
about their publications, HK's site also has job ads, contents of journals,
conference information, links, and information on physical education
programs.
National Association
for Sport and Physical Education NASPE is one of the six associations
within AAHPERD. Many of its members are physical educators at the school
and university level nationwide. In addition to membership and organization
information, NASPE's website has professional information such as National
Standards for Physical Education and National Standards for Athletic
Coaches.
North Carolina Alliance for Athletics,
Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance The NC association
of AAHPERD has information about its organization on its website.
Sportime
naspe-talk Sportime International sponsors this listserv, which is
the world-wide information forum for physical & movement professionals,
APA (Adapted Physical Activities), recreation, and dance professionals.
SPORTQuest This site is maintained
by SIRC (Sport Information Research Center). It has links to thousands
of websites, organized by sport, from recreational activities to college
athletics to professional leagues. SIRC also has information on its research
products and services.
