You know that we have fiction by Hawthorne and Poe, but did you know
that we have a substantial collection of fiction by more recent authors?
Because the Library of Congress Classification System does not separate
fiction out from other genres or from biographical and critical material
on an author, it is difficult to browse for fiction you would just
like to read.
Below are links to the decades from the 1950s on. For each decade
the authors are listed alphabetically, and under each author is the
title(s) of works first published in that decade. The title links to
our catalog record for that item, so you can see more information about
it, including whether or not it's checked
out and where to find it on the shelf. You will find modern literary
classics
in these lists, and popular reads as well.
We hope you will find this useful. Happy reading!
