Gaining Network Access
Gardner-Webb University utilizes Bradford Networks Campus Manager to provide security for the network and its users. When a student or guest connects to the campus network, they will have to download the Bradford Persistent Agent (regular access) or Bradford Dissolvable Agent (guest access) onto their computer.
If you are planning to bring a Windows computer to campus, you will be required to use anti-virus software for your system and have all the current Windows updates installed. Doing these at home will help ease your transition onto the Gardner-Webb network.
Gardner-Webb recommends that students use Microsoft Security Essentials as their anti-virus software. If you need assistance, contact Technology Services at (704) 406-4647. This software can be downloaded at this address: Microsoft Security Essentials.
Students must have their virus definitions up to date before coming to campus to ensure you can log-in to the network.
If you are planning to bring an Apple computer to campus, you will not be required to have anti-virus software, but you will need to have all Mac OS system updates installed.
