Full-time employees are eligible for a full range of benefits. Part-time employees are eligible for some benefits as well.
Gardner-Webb offers group health insurance to employees who are scheduled for at least 30 hours per week The PPO plan coverage includes copays for doctor's visits, visits to specialists, and prescription drugs. Co-insurance includes payment at 90% after a $300.00 per calendar year deductible for in-network providers and 70% after a $500.00 deductible for those outside the network. Primary Physician Care is our third party administrator and we utilize both the Primary Physician Care Network and the Crescent PPO. Other network coverage may be available for our employees residing in South Carolina through the Premier Health Systems network. Current monthly costs to employees are $75.00 for individual coverage, $184.00 for employee plus one child, and $438.00 for family coverage. Tuition Remission is available for full-time employees and offers employees or their dependents a chance to enroll in Gardner-Webb University with reduced tuition or tuition free.
Through our Flexible Benefits Plan, Gardner-Webb University offers employees a wide range of coverage. From numerous benefit offerings, employees can pick and choose the coverage that it right for them and their families. Insurance for accidents, hospital confinement, disability, cancer, critical illness and Universal Life Insurance is offered through Colonial Life. Gardner-Webb University also makes available dental insurance for employees and their families as well as vision insurance through Superior Vision.
Flexible Spending Accounts offer employees the chance to put aside money for out-of-pocket medical expenses or expenses associated with care for dependents. These savings are accumulated through salary reduction and deposited directly in to your account. To avoid needless paper work, employees may opt for the flex convenience card.
Gardner-Webb University Retirement Plan
Gardner-Webb offers a very attractive retirement plan. Employees may choose either TIAA-CREF or Guidestone Financial as the administrator of their plan. After selecting investment options that reflect a comfort level with different amounts of risk, and an the appropriate amount of salary reduction (pre-tax), employees are ready to watch their retirement account grow.
After completing one year of employment, employees are eligible to receive matching funds of 8% of their salary by contributing at least 4% of their own salary.
