What is your favorite thing about Boiling Springs?
Like most people, I really do enjoy the small town atmosphere. But it is actually the people that make it so great. And the best of those are right here at GWU!
Who has been a hero or role model for you and why?
My late father – he graduated from Gardner-Webb in 1977 . He was a pastor and had a great passion for life, and a deep desire for others to know Christ. One of the many things he taught me is the healing power of laughter. My motto is: It is not a good day if I haven’t had at least one good belly laugh!
What motivates or energizes you?
My relationship with Christ is the strongest motivating factor in my life. His grace and mercy have been poured out abundantly on this PK! And also my family – they are God’s greatest blessings in my life!
My favorite portion of Scripture is…
“Have I not commanded you, be strong and of a good courage, for the Lord your God is with you, wherever you may go” Joshua 1:9 – This scripture has been such a comfort to me throughout the years. I was scared to death to return to college as an adult. I would recite this scripture over and over again as I would walk into class each day. I like the fact that this verse tells me that “good courage” is not optional – it is a command.
My hobbies and interests are…
Reading, writing, and in-depth Bible studies. I also enjoy traveling and speaking for Stonecroft Ministries as well as leading women’s retreats. I love riding four-wheelers with my boys and eating anything chocolate!!
Most people would be surprised to know...
That I love to slalom ski!
