What is your favorite thing about Boiling Springs?
I love the small town atmosphere and the feeling that I know everyone living here. Our location is also a real plus with cities like Charlotte, Asheville and Greenville just a short drive away.
Who has been your role model for you and why?
My grandfather has been my greatest role model. I was a first generation college student. My grandfather was a hard working farmer who loved his family and his community. He taught me that working hard and planning ahead were two things vital for success, but that your personal success was worthless without your community. He demonstrated to me that no matter what you accomplished in life, none of it mattered unless your life mattered to others around you. His life mattered to many because he dedicated his life to serving others.
What motivates or energizes you?
I’m a people person. I love to be around other people getting to know them and interacting with them. Whether it’s meeting new people, or spending time with those I’m closest too, it’s relationships with others that I thrive on. They are my motivation and strength. They entertain and instruct me. I love life because I get to live it with so many great folks.

What is your favorite scripture?
My favorite portion of Scripture is Romans 12. In this passage Paul gives us clear practical directions for how to live as the Body of Christ. Following Christ is not nearly the mystery we often perceive it to be thanks to Spirit inspired passages like this that help us walk together as the Kingdom of God.
My hobbies and interests are:
I love the outdoors. I enjoy gardening, fly-fishing, hunting, mountain biking, hiking, camping and reading.
Most people would be surprise to know...
Most people would be surprised to know that my background includes everything from being a full-time pastor to playing in a traveling band. Though I have a master’s degree in English, I’ve worked as a bio-hazard courier, landscaper and a high school biology teacher.
