On behalf of the entire Gardner-Webb University community, we would like to congratulate you on your decision to attend GWU!
You have made an incredible decision that will change your life forever. You are embarking on a journey that will offer you amazing opportunities of growth, academically, spiritually and socially.
We are excited to have you as a Runnin’ Bulldog!
Enrolling in a university can be a pretty intimidating experience, especially when there are so many things you need to learn. But don’t worry. We understand and have designed a program to help you make that transition as smoothly as possible.
o·ri·en·ta·tion (noun): introductory session - a meeting or series of events at which introductory information or training is provided to somebody embarking on something new
The primary purpose of Orientation is to provide a basic introduction to college life and offer resources for the challenges students will encounter. Orientation will establish the foundations upon which students will build over the next four years.
So how will Orientation help you?
What do you need to know before embarking on your Great Beginning here at Gardner-Webb?
Where do you go to have your Gardner-Webb ID made?
How do you find your academic advisor?
Where are you living?
Where are your classes?
No problem.
Beginning August 15 (for all First Year Students) or August 18 (for all Transfer Students) - Move In Day –The Office of Student Leadership and Activities will be hosting Orientation to answer those questions, as well as all of the “fun” ones, like, how do I get involved with clubs and organizations on campus, where are the SGA meetings and how do I become a member of the DAWG POUND?
Dining During Orientation
As a new student, your Orientation fee will cover all of your meals for the entire Orientation time period that you are required to attend. Family members who are accompanying the incoming student will be able to purchase meal tickets either in Bost Gym during Check-in or at the door of the café.
If you have any questions, just give us a call at 704-406-4268 or 704-406-4732, or email us at kweir@gardner-webb.edu . Enjoy your summer vacation, and we’ll see you on campus soon!
