Call to Ministry

Students who attended the Forum completed surveys on their understanding of the call to ministry with regard to their minister, family, and church.  At the end of the week, students completed another questionnaire related to faith formation issues as well as a critical post-test question related to the first survey.  This paper examines the short-term impact of the Forum on the sense of students’ call to ministry related to degrees of certainty and commitment.  In addition, the paper analyzes five years of data related to how students perceive their call in relation to their minister, family, and church.   Findings from this analysis provide suggestions for ministers, families, and the church on how to address gaps emerging from student impressions of support.
