Welcome

kheresa harmon welcome pictureGrace and peace to you from the School of Divinity Office of Admissions! It is a privilege to serve as your Director of Admissions, and I look forward to sharing your journey through theological education with you.

The same God who called our biblical matriarchs and patriarchs spoke to you. You heard the voice of your God speaking and you answered, “Here am I. Send me.” The story of God’s movement in your life is powerful and unique to you. I look forward to hearing the story of God’s call upon your life.

Years ago God called me. I was a pre-med student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill when I began to feel a longing, urging in my soul to do something with my life that involved serving God by serving God’s people. I began a new journey in 1994 as a religion major at Campbell University and remained there through the completion of the Master of Divinity degree in 2002. In 2000 I was honored to be hired as the Director of Admissions for the Campbell University Divinity School, where I served for seven years. The stories of the students, faculty, and staff that I heard left an indelible mark upon my spirit. I am grateful.

I am the mother of a delightful son, Timothy. He and my husband, Dr. Steve Harmon, returned to North Carolina from the Birmingham, Alabama area. We are excited to call North Carolina home again and to be serving the students of Gardner-Webb University.

Please know that my office, which is located in the Graduate Admissions Office, is always open to you. My telephone and email are as well! Please drop by for a visit, and know that I am eager to assist you with any questions or needs you may have.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you prepare educationally for the call God has placed upon your life. May God bless you.

Peace,

Kheresa W. Harmon
