GOAL classes began at the Anson Center in 1998. At Southern Piedmont Community College, formerly Anson Community College, the President of the community college and the Board of Commissioners were anxious to have the opportunity for the citizens of their county to be able to complete a four year college degree. Gardner-Webb was one of the first to answer the call, and remains as a strong presence at SPCC.
