Scholarships
All North Carolina residents of at least one year, attending school full time (12 hours or more in the undergraduate or GOAL programs) will receive a North Carolina Legislative Tuition Grant of $1900.00 per year. *Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of eight semesters. Scholarships do not cover costs for additional credits taken, summer school charges or other program costs such as GEM. If your cumulative GPA is below the required minimum, you will be placed on Scholarship Probation for the fall semester. You will be eligible to receive your scholarship while on probation. If at the end of the fall term you have not achieved the required GPA your scholarship will be rescinded for the spring semester.
Gardner-Webb offers a Minister's Dependent Scholarship of $1,000 per year to any undergraduate who is a dependent of a Southern Baptist Ordained Minister employed full-time in a Southern Baptist Church. The student must be enrolled full time.
Check with your high school counselor about applying for all scholarships for which you qualify within your community.
SCHOLARSHIP MAINTENANCE
Presidential Fellows, Academic Fellows and University Fellows* must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 at the end of each academic year, reside on campus, and be enrolled full time.
Gardner-Webb Scholarships*, Presidential Scholarships and Junior College Transfer Scholarships* require a cumulative GPA of a 2.8 at the end of each academic year.
You may appeal the loss of your scholarship by writing a letter to the Assistant Director of Financial Planning. It is important to remember that extenuating circumstances must be fully documented.
* Nursing students must remain in good standing in the Nursing program in lieu of the above stated GPA’s to retain scholarship funds.
