Meet Marlon

Name: Marlon Burnett
Major:  Electronic Publishing, Photography
Hometown: NY, but lived in Orlando, FL most of my life

Interests:  I enjoy listening to all different kinds of music, fashion, playing ultimate frisbee, and just hanging out with friends.

I am a senior at Gardner-Webb University studying electronic publishing and photography. I was born in NY, but I've lived in Orlando, Fl for most of my life. During my senior year in HS, I came to GWU to visit a friend and fell in love with the campus. I knew that this was the place that God wanted me to be. The rest, was history. I enjoy listening to all different kinds of music, fashion, playing ultimate frisbee, and just hanging out with friends. I am a pretty random guy with tons to say, so I hope you enjoy hearing about some of my experiences here at the Webb.

In case you haven't heard our school beat University of Kentucky!!

since then our school has been in a state of crazy excitement, and I am loving it. The celebrations all started late that night after the win. I was sick in my room so i was just kind of hanging out when ireceived a phone call, and heard a rumble. I opened my door to a crowd of an easy 100 students screaming and yelling up and down the hall. Later that night at about 1:30 i was finally getting to sleep only to hear the faint sound of drums. Mycuriosity was killing me so I went outside to hear our crowd still going strong (if not stronger because now they have drums).

GW PRIDE I love it!!!!         UK who!?????

the pic below: in just a few hours the following dayshordesof students and faculty assembled in the gym to cheer for our basketball team. yea, we like to go nuts.

As a communications major I have tons of projects due at the end of the year.  I spent over 3 hours working on this picture for my portfolio class.  just thought i'd share some of the things we do here at school.

Holiday times mean several things to college students. You don't really realize how much you love your family until your gone from them for months at a time. Especially being from Fl, going home isn't an option that i can readily choose at any moment. So Thanksgiving break is not only a break from homework and stress, but i chance to catch up with loved ones. At my house we have some typical traditions like putting up the tree and lights and such things. We also have some strange traditions like instead of having turkey we have jerk chicken ( a jamaican dish). Im not a big fan of turkey and since my family is Jamaican it works.

Holiday breaks also makes you appreciate you friends at school. We all know you love them but after 4 months of being connected at the hip a break from friends can be a good thing. When you arrive back at school you realize how much you've missed them.
