Degrees Offered

BS in Mathematics 

The Basic Course Requirements must be satisfied. The Dimension of Scientific Inquiry must be satisfied with Physics 203.

A major in Mathematics requires 36 semester hours of mathematics and computer science classes selected as follows: MATH 151, MATH 152, MATH 230, MATH 251, MATH 302, MATH 351, MATH 404, MATH 412, CISS 201, one more MATH course numbered above 400 and one more MATH course numbered 300 or above.

A university approved minor area of study or additional study in an approved area of concentration within the mathematical sciences is required.

BS in Mathematics Education

The Basic Course Requirements must be satisfied. The Dimension of Scientific Inquiry must be satisfied with Physics 203.

A major in Mathematics with preparation for secondary (9 - 12) teacher licensure requires 36 semester hours of mathematics and computer science classes selected as follows: MATH 105, MATH 151, MATH 152, MATH 230, MATH 251, MATH 302, MATH 303, MATH 310, MATH 404, CISS 201, one more MATH course numbered above 300.

The Professional Education minor consisting of the following 31 hours: MAED 432, EDUC 201, EDUC 301, EDUC 313, EDUC 325, EDUC 440, EDUC 450, PSYC 302, PSYC 303

BS in Computer Science

The Basic Course Requirements must be satisfied. The Quantitative Dimension must be satisfied with MATH 151. A minimum grade of C is required for MATH 151. Chemistry or physics is recommended to satisfy the Dimension of Scientific Inquiry.

Classes required for completing the major are as follows: CISS 201, CISS 285, CISS 360, CISS 380, CISS 423, CISS 433, CISS 460, CISS 471, MATH 311 or MATH 302, and one additional course from CISS 440, CISS 450, CISS 480 or MATH 370.

A university approved minor area of study is required. A minor in mathematics is recommended.
