Dr. Scott Shauf
Dr. Shauf joined the Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy in 2009. Prior to that he taught for six years at Bluefield College in Virginia. He earned his Ph.D. in New Testament from Emory University in 2004. He also holds a Master of Theological Studies from Duke University Divinity School, an M.S. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and a B.A. from the university of Richmond. He has published one book, Theology as History, History as Theology: Paul in Ephesus in Acts 19 (de Gruyter Press, 2005), and a number of scholarly articles. He is active in his local church, having served in such roles as Sunday school teacher, deacon, and choir member. He has preached and led Bible studies in a variety of church contexts. His ministry experience extends internationally, having worked on a short term basis with churches and ministries in China, Ghana, Germany, and Mexico. Dr. Shauf teaches New Testament and Greek courses.
