Your minor in Recreation will prepare you for careers in a variety of settings such as:  community centers, summer camps, recreational ministries, activity programs, college intramurals, state parks, and more.  The minor in Recreation from Gardner-Webb focuses on developing the skills necessary to lead others in their recreational pursuits.

Recreation Minor

The 18-hour recreation minor prepares students for careers in a variety of settings: community centers, summer camps, recreation ministries, activity programs, college intramurals, state parks, and more.

 

Our focus is on preparing leaders for group and individual activities. The purposes of recreation for a well-rounded life will be explored. Students gain knowledge and experience in a number of recreational endeavors, developing the skills necessary to lead others in their recreational pursuits.

 

Coursework options include studies in Outdoor Education, Community Recreation, Individual Sports, Team Sports, Coaching, and more.
