Alumni Spotlight - George Adams

George Adams graduated from Gardner-Webb in 1972 with a bachelor’s in Health Education.

 

While at Gardner-Webb, Adams was drafted to the NBA’s world champion Milwaukee Bucks in 1972. Later that year, he transitioned from the NBA to the ABA San Diego Conquistadors. After graduating from Gardner-Webb, Adams went to work for Parks and Recreation as Superintendent.

 

Today, Adams works for Favor Youth Services of Gastonia, N.C. and is a motivational speaker for numerous groups including Boys Clubs, churches, schools, and the YMCA.

Adams continues to be an active member of the National Basketball Retired Players Association. He has been inducted in the Kings Mountain Hall of Fame as well as the Gardner-Webb Athletic Hall of Fame.
