Gardner-Webb University is seeking person to fill the position of Undergraduate Admissions Counselor. This position is responsible for recruiting students to attend Gardner-Webb University by making presentations, using telemarketing to follow-up, scheduling visits, and generally encouraging prospective students to attend Gardner-Webb University.
The successful candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to manage detailed tasks. A Gardner-Webb University graduate is preferred. The position requires some night and weekend work as well as travel.

GARDNER-WEBB UNIVERSITY
Assistant Vice President for Development for Academic Schools
January 2007
Responsibilities:
1. The main responsibility of this position is to create and execute development plans for major and leadership gift ($25,000 and above) prospects to financially support Gardner-Webb University through current (cash) giving, deferred gifts, gifts in kind, and multi-year pledges. The creation and execution of a development plan for a prospect includes research, cultivation, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship.
2. The Assistant Vice President for Development will have significant fundraising responsibility and an annual goal for visits, asks, and successful asks, developed in conjunction with the President, Vice President for Development, in context with the entire University fundraising effort.
3. The Assistant Vice President will assist the Capital Campaign Steering Committee (to be formed in 2007) by being assigned prospects to review and manage. This position will also cooperate with the Committee in various leadership roles and appropriately leverage committee resources to ensure a successful multiyear development campaign.
4. This position will work closely with the deans and department heads of the various schools and departments to accurately represent their academic areas and needs to development prospects. The successful Assistant Vice President for Development will also attempt to utilize the networks, energy, ideas, and area resources that each dean and chair possess.
5. The Assistant Vice President for Development will participate in the major gift moves management system by completing written contact reports on prospects, communicate and involve the Vice President and President in the formulation of development strategies and solicitations.
6. This position will research and find prospects for the major gift process as well as accept prospect assignments.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. 5+ years of experience with annual giving and major gifts fundraising.
2. Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
3. Ability to travel frequently. Some overnight travel required.
4. Ability to represent Gardner-Webb University’s Christian heritage and outlook through their personal lives by making positive contributions in the community.

Dean of the Graduate School
GARDNER-WEBB UNIVERSITY invites applications for the position of Dean of the Graduate School. Qualified candidates must hold an earned terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, possess administrative experience, have a record of excellence in teaching (graduate level preferred), have research expertise, and demonstrate experience in strategic planning and assessment. The Dean of the Graduate School is responsible for administering twelve graduate programs, two of which are doctoral, as well as managing the graduate assistantship program, implementing graduate policies, serving as chair of the graduate faculty, and working with deans of schools and chairs of departments. Position includes some teaching responsibilities. The Dean of the Graduate School reports to the Associate Provost for Schools.

Gardner-Webb University is seeking to fill the position of GOAL Admissions Recruiting Counselor. This position involves commuticating with a designated population and discussing information such as programs, majors, requirements, financial aid, and transcript evaluations. Responsibilities also include setting up visits to community colleges, fairs, special days and career days to promote the GOAL program of Gardner-Webb. Admission counselors are also responsible for pre-registering any student who is part of the assigned population.

Assistant Professor in Sociology
Gardner-Webb University seeks a qualified individual for a tenure track appointment as Assistant Professor in Sociology. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Sociology with the ability to teach introductory and advanced level undergraduate Sociology (including both Classical and Contemporary Sociological Theory) courses. Salary and benefits are competitive with institutions of similar size and purpose. Instruction Librarian
Gardner-Webb University seeks an Instruction Librarian to deliver group bibliographic instruction to students and faculty based at the main campus and remote centers; to create web tutorials and implement new technology for user education; to share reference desk service with other library faculty; and to participate in long-range planning. Reports to the Associate Dean of Libraries. Includes some in-state travel. Serves as a member of the GWU faculty, with attendant committee and other responsibilities.
SALARY: Dependent upon experience and qualifications.
SETTING: Dover Memorial Library has a staff of 14.5 (5 professionals, 2 paraprofessionals, 7.5 support staff) and more than 800,000 items, including 200,000+ book volumes. During the regular semester, we are open 85 hours per week. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have an ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent. Must relate well to students and faculty, have a clear speaking voice and be able to effectively deliver information. Previous library experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities: teach undergraduate and graduate classes in areas of concentration and other related business courses. Other responsibilities include student advising and committee assignments. Off campus/evening teaching likely.
